Criteria for the following Award:
Jackie D. Martin Volunteer Award

1. Must be a member of a Post, comrade or auxiliary in good standing in District 1.
2. A member who best exemplifies the spirit and enthusiasm of volunteerism.
3. A member who, by example, motivates others to become more involved in Post and community service.
4. A member whose conduct in the Post and community exemplifies a positive image that adds to the prestige of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and its mission of service.
5. All service is to be done in the true spirit of comradeship.

Letters of recommendation may be submitted by any Officer, elected or appointed or any member in good standing with a short summery of why this individual is deserving of the award.

The submitter should send the nomination letter to District 1 and address it to the attention of the Adjutant. (See Officers and Trustees for Adjutant e-mail address)

Cut-off Date for Letters of recommendation is March 31st of the award year.
An awards committee will review all letters and determine who is most deserving of the award. The award will be presented at the District Convention.
